What is ARCH4FUTURE?

The ARCH4FUTURE project was a collaboration between South East China University and Tampere University. It was developed as a parallel project to ARCH4CHANGE to create diversity and complementary understanding between the challenges and opportunities faced in China and Europe (Finland) in the green transition in architecture, through a mobility exchange.

However, the global COVID19 pandemic prevented teachers and students from traveling. Instead virtual field trips were created to exchange knowledge between the teachers and students, creating a feeling as if we were visiting the case studies in person. These virtual fieldtrips, and the research material that enabled the case study visits, were then integrated in the ARCH4CHANGE project and learning and teaching platform, and was undertaken with the same underlying values and aims as the ARCH4CHANGE project, hence its inclusion in this platform. Here you can find the resulting book, Could This Be the Future?, where the research material is collected. The individual case studies and their videos can be found under their appropriate Design Themes.
