Health and wellbeing relate to the design and planning of spaces, buildings and cities with the goal of promoting physical, mental, and social well-being. It is an approach that recognises the importance of the built environment in shaping good health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Health and well-being is also impacted by climate change, with direct impacts including heat-related illnesses and injuries, and natural disasters. Indirect impacts include poor air quality and food and water insecurity. To address these challenges, it is necessary to both mitigate and adapt to the impact of climate emergency.
